Conchs can be found hiding in the grassy bottom of the ocean. They are more easily found on the menu of the local restaurants prepared in a variety of ways. If you catch your own, be aware of rules and limits. The regulations are as follows: Bahamians are not limited to the amount of conch they may catch, however, foreign vessels have a bag limit of 6 conchs per vessel. The conchs must have a well-formed, prominent flared lip (minimum 7-8 inches in length). Realize that even though the conch may have a flared lip it may not have reached reproductive maturity.
