How to get to Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas and Long Bay House? It’s easy!
- Have your passport ready. You will need it to enter the Bahamas and return home
- Fly into the Abacos, which houses two airports: Treasure Cay, Abaco (TCB) and Marsh Harbour, Abaco (MHH).
- From either airport, take a taxi to the Green Turtle Ferry.
- Once aboard the ferry, tell the captain you’re staying at Long Bay House. Mary Lowe, property manager, will meet you at the town dock and take you to the house!

Green Turtle Cay which is one of the islands in the Abaco chain is located 180 nautical miles east of West Palm Beach. The Abacos are part of the Bahamas, and you can fly directly to them from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Tampa, and Atlanta through small and large airlines, including American Airlines, Bahamas Air, Silver Airlines, Delta, and some smaller airlines. Don’t forget passports for everyone in your group, including children. You will need it to enter the Bahamas and to return home.
There are two airports in the Abacos. The closer to Green Turtle Cay is Treasure Cay, Abaco, Bahamas. The airport code is TCB. Once you clear immigration and customs, just step outside where there will be several taxis waiting. It is a 3 minute taxi ride to the Green Turtle Ferry. While you wait for the ferry, be sure to stop in and see Lacreasha at Da Drop Off for ice cold Bahamian drinks and snacks. The Ferry runs on a schedule throughout the day and will deliver you to Green Turtle in 10 minutes.
The other airport is at Marsh Harbour, Abaco and its airport code is MHH. Marsh Harbour is located approximately 20 miles south of the Treasure Cay ferry dock. You will need to catch a taxi to the Green Turtle Ferry dock.
Once you board the ferry tell the captain you are staying at Long Bay House. He will notify Mary Lowe, the estate manager, to meet you at the town dock. She will take you to the house and get you settled in.
